Paying Attention in June
June bring us into Gemini Season with the clear message that we must pay attention. To our bodies. To our language. To the world. Vigilance is needed. Gemini knows the balance of sitting with the present and the past, with ourselves and the world. It understands the relating and connecting not opposites, but the paired realities of dualities. We might be looking at communication and the ways in which we speak about or to ourselves and others. We may be tending to our own personal, ancestral, or collective wounds. This season aids in joining others together, articulating steps and plans of action, and then building new structures (as we simultaneously dismantle old ones). May we, to the best of our ability, humbly explore the odds we face and how we are at odds within. May we challenge and question. May we look at all sides. May we secure new footing, root deeply, and step forward with a greater understanding not of dualities, but of the wholeness of all things
Herb of the Month: Meadowsweet
Nourishing our nervous systems and emotional bodies is extremely important right now, especially as we do deep internal and necessary external work. Our ‘Sacred Knowledge’ tea blend aids in this work, while herb of the month Meadowsweet supports ones own unique tenderness, guiding us through blocks or fears.
Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet has a long history within magic, lore, and sacred associations with various Goddesses. It was also one of the most sacred herbs of the Druid’s and was used in sacred meads and ales. Often used in colds and the flu, this herb has an astringent, bitter, and sweet profile with cooling and drying tendencies. Meadowsweet is also used as an anti-inflammatory and as a diuretic. Magically, this sweet herb has been used in love magic, attraction, and supporting ones heart and tenderness. It can be helpful when one is experiencing fear or anger, for those who find themselves inflexible or rigid and could use to tap into relaxation. Meadowsweet is a gentle opener by way of expanding ones psyche and intuition. It can help one connect to self, ground, and explore hidden or present inner truths.
NOTE: Caution for use in persons with sensitivity to aspirin or other salicylate-containing drugs is cautioned.
