AUGUST, INVITING US TO HOLD SPACE & COMPASSION FOR OTHERS AND OURSELVES.

August is a fascinating month that exists right before we go through the transition into Autumn. It is a time that calls for extra compassion for others and ourselves as we navigate the coming end of summer and the beginning of a new season, physically on the earthy plane around us, in our bodies, and also ethereally within the universe around us, as well as within our own spirit.

Lemon Balm is our beautiful herbal ally this month, helping to soothe our fears, support our nervous system, and tend to a space without judgement. Below are a few recipes and ways to incorporate this soft herb into one’s daily life this month.

Lemon Balm

Every time one of our shop herbalists walks by a Lemon Balm plant, we must stop to rub our fingers against its soft leaves and raise the sweet lemony smell up to our noses. This herb has been found to be helpful in states of depression, restlessness, and can also be helpful with gastrointestinal issues. Lemon Balm brings great comfort to anxious states and has traditionally as an herb used to uplift one’s spirit. It is said that this plant is ruled by the planet Jupiter and is associated with the zodiac sign of cancer. Being associated with the water element, Lemon Balm helps to support one’s emotions and eases the flow and navigation of understanding one’s own feelings.
