Join this 1.5 hour class with Dana Hutchinson RH (AHG), lead medical herbalist and owner of the Wildflower Clinic in Golden, CO. Stress is our natural response to outside threats and is truly a mechanism that has protected humans throughout our evolutionary history. In a balanced state, the body’s stress response system will return to baseline once the perceived stress has passed. If the stress response system is constantly activated or susceptible to chronic stress, this can lead to a constant “fight or flight” reaction and put the individual at an increased risk for a variety of health problems. This potential overexposure to cortisol, adrenaline, and other stress hormones in the body can alter the system’s equilibrium and lead to a constantly triggered stress system. This workshop will detail health issues commonly developed from excessive stress and will examine how stress affects each body system. We'll also discuss how we can support our complex hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis) that is vital to the strength of our central nervous system. Come learn about anxiolytic, adaptogenic, and nervine trophorestorative herbs that are essential to restoring the nervous system. This class includes a detailed educational handout.
