Green Pharmacy: Beginning Herbal Medicine Making
7 consecutive Wednesday evenings
April 20th - June 1st 2010
6:30 - 9:00 pm
For beginner and herb enthusiast alike, this introductory level class is a wonderful way to learn about herbs and their medicinal uses. In this hands-on class we will learn to use and make a bountiful herbal pharmacy. Students will be making herbal preparations in each class and will be taking home the medicines we make. We will learn how to evaluate herb quality and choose appropriate herbal remedies and preparations to create health and balance. This class is designed to accommodate all levels of interest and working knowledge. Class includes an herb walk and ‘medicine show’.

Summer Solstice Celebration
September 26th -28th
Sunday, June 2oth 2pm - 6pm
Join Catherine and Marian for a powerful Summer Solstice Celebration! In class, we will cover herbs and oils to help feed our inner flames and will create individual collages as a physical representation of our intentions for the season. Upon completion of our projects, we will hold our solstice ritual celebrating the fiery energy and passionate intentions, which will lead us through our impending transformations in this summer season. We will end our day together with a feast to ground and connect us more deeply with our bodies.
Cost: $45 + Bring a potluck item; all other materials included in the class fee.

Reynold’s Park Mountain Herb Walk & Outdoor Class
Saturday, July 10th 10am - 1pm
Explore the healing forest as we walk through this beautiful old ranch in search of healing plants. This walk begins in a dry, lower elevation moving up into a cool moist forest offering the greatest diversity of plants. Plants we’ll see include: Red Raspberry, Osha, Arnica and Angelica.

Women of The Garden
Sunday, August 22nd 2pm - 5pm
Join Shelley and Marian for an enchanting afternoon in the garden! We will open to receiving restoration and replenishment from Mother Earth through spiritually nurturing plants. During class, we will explore healing herbs including angelica, yarrow, hawthorne and more! For hands-on connection with the plants, we will play with wild cookery, plant brushing and how to make your own flower essences!

Introduction to Healing Ceremonies

Ceremony, Art & the Shamanic Journey!
Villa Olivia, Sayulita, Mexico November 9th - 14th 2009
Imagine yourself surrounded by the enchanting magic of the deep blue water and warm sand … fully immersed in your creative process… supported and celebrated by a group of soulful women…painting, playing and giving form and color to what is alive in YOU. Our Painting and Shamanic Healing Retreat will be held at the beautiful Villa Olivia in Sayulita Mexico, where we will call on the spirits of the water the land, the rattle & drum and the paintings to help us flow right into the Visionary-Shamaness inside. There will be time ‘off’ to play, surf, journal, swim, and rest. Sunsets are the time for herbal flower baths and ceremony on our private beach. This workshop is for women who are ready to go deeper into the creative and shamanic arts. Group size will be limited to 15. Cost includes lodging and a daily, fabulous Oaxacan mid-day feast.

Alley Herb Walk

Did you know that some of our most important healing medicinal plants grow in the alleys in the city? Join us for a fun stroll through the alleys around the store, learning folklore, modern clinical uses and recipes of many famous wild weeds. This walk will focus on urban plant allies, from common weeds to backyard edible and medicinal plants. Plants we will see include: Yellow Dock, Mugwort, Shepherd’s Purse, Catnip and the much adored Red Raspberry. Bring a note pad and rain jacket just in case!
